In the tour, "The gathering" I just want to say was fantastic. I got a shirt from them it was a blue one with two hands in the shape of a W on the back and then went out to my seat. Unfortunately I didn't get to see both openers as when we got there we only saw the shins but they had great music and a good vibe to them. Then they had a bit of a break that was maybe around 30 minutes before Weezer started.
Before we talk about the music let's talk about the set and background. If you're going to have a background you have to make sure it has something to do with the show. The set was a house with the address of 2226 which was a house where they moved into in March 1992. In this house they recorded things like the kitchen tape demo. The setup into them coming on the stage was pretty cool too. It started with a kid drawing some weird symbols which two older kids bullied him for until he says "if I'm such a loser why is Weezer performing at my house tonight?" Which the bullies don't believe and decide to leave. The kid then needs to convince Weezer to play at his house. He calls their agent but sadly, he only has 98 cents. Then it cuts to the Weezer when one of the guys sees a weird symbol, ( the thing the kid was drawing earlier ) and thinks that mean they have to perform at the kid's house he shows the other guys who didn't know they had a show but once they see the symbol it's like they're hypnotized. They go to the kid's house and then they get on the stage.
Now it's time for Weezer to sing the songs. They open with one of their new songs shine again which is actually really good. I don't even listen to much Weezer but I just vibe with the songs anyways. At the end they sing their big 3 songs. Buddy Holly, Say It Ain't So, and Island In The Sun. Overall this was a great concert and I'd rate it an 9 out of 10
